Freedom & Exploration

I regularly hit one of the most beautiful spots in a 10 mile radius, the lake, with a friend at least once every two weeks. Even overlooking the ducks, moon, and lake, we both concluded that the world was getting boring. Later I receive a text from my friend saying,

"Let me be in the good green earth to explore on my own. Maybe that's why people are so depressed. There's nothing new to discover or explore. I bet pilgrims weren't depressed... always discovering new things and ultimately themselves."

I'm a huge fan of irony, especially with such an instant and bold response. I wont tell you all to go hug a tree, save a whale, become a leather tramp. I wont be too extreme at an early start of ideas. Breaking it down, I have more (personal) respect for the hippy than an international CEO, just because of my own goals I seek in my life. Both are highly respected but I have a preference as far as hierarchy of reverence.
A revolution of your own world is what I have always valued. A real "hippy" or leather tramp (whatever name you seem appropriate) essentially is one who goes against the norms of society to change and refine his own stance in the universe... a revolution of his own world, not society.
See I wont set after the hippy ideals I create in my spare time and conversation. I just think I can understand how people are attracted to it. After all, individual freedom is appealing. While some may debate freedom is not real unless ultimate freedom is present.
Is freedom ultimate or does it end where your neighbors begins? Despite belief, it is possible to have both. Its ultimate but you get far enough out in your own world to the point you don't have neighbors.
